I cannot believe this. I did this yesterday! I have been STUCK, and I decided to look through my favorite artists (past and present) and see what the common denominator was that always HIT me. Whistler, Twachtman, Metcalf, marc Bohne, Doug Fryer, Michael Workman, fred Cuming, Jon Redmond , and yes, one of yours. I was able to see that I have been painting what I see, not what I want to say. I was using brighter colors, when I should have used stronger values and design. It was certainly a helpful exercise.
